Is a sheet protector with black paper inside a perfect gift?

December 11, 2008

I was reading the C-Line Products Blog and saw a post on holidays on a budget.  In it they mentioned giving sheet protectors as a gift.  I wonder if the post was in reference to my post on  my pal Mary Jo looking for sheet protectors with black paper?  In fact, sheet protectors are not the only thing we have given to Mary Jo.  We have given her lots of plastic name badge holders and Hello my name is badges.

She uses them at Family Matters,  a family-centered organization in the Chicago/Evanston North of Howard neighborhood that seeks to be a catalyst for change – building and strengthening the community through programs that support personal growth and leadership.

Here is a holiday picture of my co-workers and me.  Please note that I have nothing to do with what appears to be on my head.

Those sheet protectors with black paper inside

December 5, 2008

We were going for a ride the other day and our friend Mary Jo asked if we could help her find those funny sheet protectors where you still have to punch a hole in your papers.  You know, the ones with the black paper inside.  I went back to sleep as Paul excitedly explained that she wanted the C-Line 00010.  It is a folded heavyweight polypropylene sheet protector with black filler paper.  We delivered a box the next day.  Not sure what she wanted to do with them, but we were promised a treat in return for providing them!  I’m thinking liver snacks…

Thanksgiving Memories

November 29, 2008

Another wonderful Thanksgiving… And so much to be thankful for.  My old friend Johann, who I have not seen in ages, came over for Thanksgiving dinner.  At first I was jumping with joy as I was so glad to see him.  As this was a bit much for everyone, I came up with a new strategy:  Try training him to do tricks.  I started with a few easy ones like sit and down.  I then moved into more complicated ones like “popcorn” where I get him to throw a treat and I catch it.  I finished the evening with a few of my favorites including “Strike a pose”, “Leave it and Take it” and “Crazy Eights.”

Here is a look at Johann practicing with me.

As Thanksgiving drew to a close I put my recipes back in their sheet protectors and put my photos into photo holders to savor my memories until next year.

Organizing Agility Rules

October 26, 2008

I had my first agility competition the other day.  It was fun seeing all those dogs, but even more fun running. Afterwards I thought I really should learn the rules for agility.  Since I did not have a copy, I found them on the web and needed a way to keep them organized.  Duh, C-Line’s super heavyweight sheet protectors would be perfect for that.  Here is last weekends agillity class:

Microban Antimicrobial

September 26, 2008

I stopped in the pet store today to pick up a toy and noticed that they had products made with Microban Antimicrobial. I thought to myself, “At C-Line, we use Microban to make our antimicrobial protected sheet protectors, project folders and laminating film.” Small world, isn’t it.
